Mother\'s Day Gifts To Remember That Mom\'s Also A Woman

Have you ever looked at your mother as not \"just\" your mom, but also a woman? If you\'re like most teenagers or young adults with mothers in their late 30s or early to mid-40s, you likely haven\'t. But now is the time to change your thinking.
Mother\'s Day should not just be for celebrating your mom as your mom, but for treating her as the special woman in your life. This possibly-foreign-to-you concept should be reflected in the gifts you give her. If you normally make your mom a homemade card, buy her something practical for the kitchen, and prepare her breakfast in bed, try something different. This year, get a little creative and venture out of the \"for-moms-only\" gift domain to get your mom something she will really enjoy, use, and cherish as a woman. Forget the \"practical\" gifts (you know, like a cookbook, tea towels and wash clothes, or new bakeware); your mother doesn\'t \"belong\" in the kitchen to always cook for you, prepare snacks for you, or clean up after you.
Strapped for ideas? There is plenty you can do for your mom on Mother\'s Day. You can still make or buy her a card and help Dad give her breakfast in bed, but take it up another level. First, consider buying her flowers. Most women will appreciate a fresh and beautiful bouquet of flowers, and love receiving them from their children. It\'s a great way to say \"I appreciate you,\" \"I love you,\" and \"You\'re beautiful\" all in one.
Next, consider chocolates, particularly if your mom loves sweets but rarely lets herself indulge. Mother\'s Day Gift Baskets containing premium chocolates are the best way to go. You may even want to venture out a bit to buy liquor-filled chocolates, but if you\'re under 18, talk to your dad first or tell him to buy them for Mom instead!
Jewelry is also a great choice. You can find some specific Mother\'s Day jewelry (an \"I love you Mom\" necklace), or choose Genuine Crystal jewelry; something that has nothing to do with motherhood, but that she would just love, anyway. Buying your mom some \"pamper\" type gifts can also make a great Mother\'s Day gift. You can buy her a gift certificate to a local spa to get the full treatment, or buy a \"Pamper Me\" Gift Basket with products she can use at home, such as aromatherapy, bath oil, massage oil, or a nail-care kit.
Make sure you check with your dad to see what he\'s doing or buying for your mom, because you definitely don\'t want to duplicate. If he\'s buying her jewelry and taking her out for a romantic date, maybe buy her some at-home spa products and some gourmet chocolates instead. Also, if you have siblings, collaborate with them to come up with something together, particularly if you\'re strapped for cash. Teens, especially, don\'t always have a lot of money kicking around, and find it\'s better if they\'re able to pool their money together to get their Mom something extra special.
Remember, Mom\'s a woman too, and make sure you let her know on Mother\'s Day with your gifts as well as the way you treat her.
