Any sailing enthusiast would agree that Beneteau is one of the biggest names in the yacht industry. The company owes its prestige to Benjamin Beneteau who started building fishermen\'s trawlers in 1884. The modest company survived the rigors of competition towards the early part of the 20th century, and is presently being run by a third generation member of the Beneteau\'s family, Annette Roux.
Beneteau yachts have earned its place as the world leader in terms of sailboats construction, which is more than twice the size of their nearest competitor. The company has found a huge following so that they have five boat factories in France, particularly in the Vendee region. Beneteau is also a trademark of innovation. This race is held at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia in Rushcutters Bay, in Sydney.
The Beneteau Cup Peugeot Regatta culminates into a colorful, huge party. Beneteau yachts owners invite members of the French Australia Chamber of Commerce on board as a way of sharing their victory.
